First time having a blanket like this. we have had the best sleep ever.I’m not one to ever write reviews but I definitely feel like this one needs to be done because I am very satisfied with this weighted blanket! I highly recommend if you’re looking for a weighted blanket you will not be disappointed in this one!This weighted blanket reminds me of my past 5-star hotel adventures, and that's the exact reason why I got it. Sorry, I would have written a more humble review - which I did - but Amazon deleted it saying I wasn't to the point. Don't you also remember those trips? Remember how good you slept? So good you wake up and couldn't believe it was already morning? And sometimes you slept some more and then woke up at noon and ordered room service? Well, it's funny you don't think of it once you get home. Or at least I didn't, until I chance upon this blanket, and realized what they are. In life, your best sleep is at your home, and on your 5-star hotel vacations. So why not bring them together?I think the 25-pound version strikes a good balance between being heavy enough to give you that enveloping feeling of security, but not too heavy as to suffocate you. You can get in 5-pound increments, up to 40 pounds, with the lightest starting at 15 pounds. For me, 25 pounds is the maximum that I still find comfortable. There are some people out there who actually feels suffocated if the blanket is too heavy, so for those I recommend starting out with the 15-pound version. The blanket is soft, but like those at the hotels and because it is weighted, it's best if you add a thin sheet in between. I recommend a satin sheet, as it is super thin and cool. I always sleep with the AC on, so the combination of a cool 68F temperature with the satin sheet, underneath this weighted blanket, is the idael setup. Sleeping with a weighted blanket feels different than with a thin sheet, as the weighted blanket envelopes you more tightly, giving you a tucked feeling, almost like you are a mummy. Therefore, I toss and turn less frequently, and sleep more soundly. I drift out of sleep less often, and sometimes I sleep all the way until morning and when I open my eyes I don't believe it's been so quick.It might not be for everyone, but for me it is effective. If you have trouble sleeping, this might be a good option. Sweet dreams!Very nice blanket, and they even said it could be either machine washed or dry cleaned; nice to have choices. In nearly a month of use, we are sleeping slightly better, and we appreciate its weight. However, we have always preferred some weight on us as we sleep, therefore had been sleeping with 2 fluffy comforters at once. This will now replace one of those. Comfortable even in 90+ heat, with AC on. As a bonus, my ankles were always tight and can't flex well. By positioning my feet in that position as I sleep, in only about 2 weeks they are much better -- so much so that my Pilates instructor noticed it! The queen size stays put on our queen size bed reasonably well (less prone to our usual tug of war with the comforters), and does NOT pull appreciably down the foot end of the bed. Tried it over our old comforter for the first 30 days., so haven't washed it yet, but it's a keeper & we're quite pleased. For now (summer at least) and due to its weight and size, we're sticking with the 20 lbs. One of us is short and under 110 lbs (but pretty strong from that Pilates), and the other is medium height and about 170; 25 lbs. might be a tad more encompassing, but we feel it would be also too hard to manage. As it is, it's harder to make the bed, but doable. Unlike others, we can't say it's a miracle worker, but is clearly 5 stars and a keeper. It seems very well made; no leakage yet. Seems to us this is a fair price (at about $80). We see no reason to pay more, unless you want one that has its own duvet cover. The blanket is soft enough & flexes well to envelope us nicely. NO problems with shifting weight distribution. We ordered one from another company; haven't yet received it, and because we also use a sheet, don't know if one is necessary.TWIN SIZE-I bought this twin size blanket for my son after he laid under mine on my bed. Pay attention to the size you buy because it changes the weight distribution and feel. The twin size was too heavy for him. I like the heavier feel but it is too heavy for me to sleep under.KING SIZE- I decided to get this weighted blanket because I couldn't find a reasonable comforter that had some weight to it for the money I wanted to spend. It arrived, I wasn't sure the design would be suitable for my bedroom as it is very plain and it doesn't fit my cali king bed like I think it should. My husband even said initially it probably wouldn't work. I took it to the public wash because I thought it may be too heavy for my washer. It washed fine, dried fine. Took it back home, changed the bedding and added this blanket. My husband and I slept under it the first night and to our amazement we both woke up loving it. It falls in place around your body like a snug glove. We don't use anything else now and will only use this type of blanket in the future. The only thing is if the make could make them a bit prettier instead of so plain this would be the best blanket ever. I will buy again despite the look because the feel is so awesome and comforting.I heard many things about weighted blankets, but never trusted. Then I got an Amazon gift card and decided to gave it a try.Went for this brand because of the reviews, and I was definitely surprised!From the first night my wife and I could already tell how much better we slept.Now that it's getting warmer, it seems like the blanket is quite hotter than I thought it would be. On the bright side, the material is softer than I thought it would be, which is nice!Overall, I'm giving it 5 starts, but I still need to put it through the washing test. It says on the label you can use a washing machine but need to hang it to dry (no dryer, no iron).I'd recommend everyone to try one. Even I was pretty skeptical and now I can't sleep without it! ?I thought it would make a difference in my sleep but honestly, it doesn't. I feel like it makes it very tiring. I move a lot when I sleep and I don't know why but to be honest, it's tiring to move this on top of me. I don't even feel the weight on me except when I fold them. I got the 25 lbs so it's heavy but when you use it as a blanket, doesn't feel anything like 25 lbs. Not sure I can recommendAs soon as you open the bag, a stench of garbage hits you like Mike Tyson in the 90s. I know what the beach the sand came from looks like and it isn’t a place you’d take your kids. If 50lbs of sewage steaming on your bed is what you’re looking for, this is the blanket for you.I had to order two as the first one had a little hole in it. No problems with refunds etc. ....just an in convenience as the blanket it heavy and we had to transport it to the post office, I am over 80 and not that strong!It’s a bit small for my queen bed, more of a double BUT it is amazing otherwise. Soft and thin. Will try tonight but tried this afternoon and I actually napped which is RARE for me :) very happy so far !
