**UPDATE** I've been using it every day for almost 8 months and it has pilled up quite a bit. Fortunately, its not that noticeable under normal use. The level of comfort remains about the same and it has held up nicely otherwise. I got one of those cheap handheld battery operated pill removers which made it look and feel almost like new again. I still recommend this product.It is very lightweight and is roughly equivalent in weight to 2 bed sheets. The blanket is actually made up of 2 different fabrics that is stitched together at the edges.I love the cool side of the blanket. It glides off the skin almost like silk and is very cool to the touch. It feels similar to the fabric found on an Under Armour running shirt. In fact, my Dad has an Under Armour shirt and the fabric looks and feels just about identical to each other (same color and pattern). Maybe that's why it feels so cool and is able to wick away moisture. If i had it my way, i would want my entire mattress sheets to be made of this material, but this is not something i've been able to find. However, they do make pillowcases out of this material.I also tried the other side which feels good but does not cool as well, which is why it is advertised as the warming side. The warming side has a traditional cotton feel, much like on a quality t-shirt. I don't use this side nearly as much but i do appreciate the sleeping-in-your-favorite-t-shirt vibe that it gives.Overall, I think this is a great cooling blanket. I generally prefer heavier blankets, but when it gets too warm in the summer, I don't really have a choice but to use a lightweight blanket, and so this fits my needs quite well. Even though its pretty light for a blanket, its pliable enough that it conforms to your body very well, giving you subtle hugging feeling. This is unlike what you would get if you were to simply use a bed sheet as a blanket, which is doesn't conform as well and instead floats on top of you.However, there are 2 things i can think of that would make it better: 1) having more vivid color options and solid colors instead of the speckled/stripe look and 2) having both sides being made of the same cooling fabric. I find it slightly inconvenient that i have to check what side is what before using it. In the dark, it's not visually obvious which side is which. And sometimes when i toss and turn during my sleep, the warming side touches my body which i try to avoid.
